Zemax is pleased to announce the latest release of our software, OpticStudio and OpticsBuilder. Version 21.2 of these products represents our second of three 2021 releases.
Zemax announced the latest release of their flagship software, OpticStudio, and OpticsBuilder. Continuing their commitment to deliver regular updates to their customers, Zemax will deliver three product releases in 2021, the first in January (21.1) followed by May (21.2) and September (21.3) releases.
Optical engineers can now certify their designs faster and with greater accuracy — optimizing the optical sensor’s effectiveness in dark or hazardous environment conditions and minimizing time to market.
We are pleased to announce that EQT Partners acquired Zemax from Arlington Capital Partners. The company will continue to be led by Mark Nicholson, CEO, and our headquarters will remain in Kirkland. With the new influx of investment, we will continue to drive growth in OpticStudio and LensMechanix as well as seek new opportunities to innovate and deliver solutions that offer customers new ways to bring products to market faster at a reduced cost.
LensMechanix simplifies the workflow for optomechanical engineers by enabling them to load OpticStudio files directly into SOLIDWORKS. When an optical engineer makes changes to an optical design, mechanical engineers can now automatically update it in LensMechanix. LensMechanix replaces your existing optical components with the updated optical components, but it does not automatically repair mates or references in your SOLIDWORKS assembly.
