Waltham MA—AMC Bridge, a vendor of choice for software development services in engineering, manufacturing, and construction, helped Cumulus Digital Systems (Cumulus), a Massachusetts-based software company that spun out of Shell TechWorks, enhance their flagship Internet of Tools™ (IoT) application.

Digital technologies embedded and integrated into manufacturing workflows help create safer and more efficient industrial facilities. Aimed to eliminate accidents, unplanned downtime, and rework at industrial sites caused by poor work quality, Cumulus developed an IoT-powered platform—Smart Torque System™. Given that the company operates globally and collaborates with large sites and facilities, the platform requires continuous configuration to address specific requirements of each client’s industrial facility.

Relying on a proven track record of successful IoT project deliverables, AMC Bridge was entrusted with Smart Torque System™ improvement. Point Cloud Viewer optimizes use of hardware resources by cleaning up data received from 3D Scanner. The ultimate goal of the application is to be able to display arbitrary point cloud while maintaining constant memory footprint and acceptable frame rate. Alpha version still has memory limitations.

    AMC Bridge announces the release of the updated version of Point Cloud Viewer, a lightweight application for viewing point clouds.  Point Cloud Viewer 1.1 provides support for the additional point cloud file formats: PCD (text/binary/binary compressed) and E57, as well as enhanced user interface functionality suitable for viewing point clouds of different sizes and shapes.
