Technology demonstration

Waltham, MA—Investigation of the connectivity between different Engineering Software Systems is an important part of the AMC Bridge research program. With Aras-for-Tekla®, we demonstrate a possibility of connecting Tekla® modeling software and the Aras Innovator® PLM platform.

Aras-for-Tekla is a technology demonstration developed to facilitate the document management process and enable users to import, export, and update Tekla documents and their associated files using Aras Innovator.

  • Data Conversion from the Mechanical CAD System to BIM in the New AMC Bridge Technology Demo

The demand for digital product data in the construction sector is accelerating faster than ever. Its driving factors, among others, are increasing adoption of building information modeling (BIM), legal requirements for product traceability, and commercial pressure to deliver fully specified technical designs of projects quicker and error-free. However, architects and mechanical engineers have different design needs, resulting in varying and often non-compatible CAD tools and file formats. AMC Bridge suggests one example of a workable solution for that problem in the CAD-to-BIM Translator technology demonstration.
