Case study

Waltham, MA—Owing to its deep expertise in engineering software development, AMC Bridge helped Allegion equip architects and designers with the enhanced industry-renowned software—Overtur™ for Revit®.

Allegion, a global pioneer in safety and security door systems, faced the challenge of building a connection between architects and Allegion consultants that will help them to readily and precisely choose which Allegion products to include in their designs. Considering Autodesk® Revit® Building Information Modeling (BIM) software as a tool of choice for many architects and designers, Allegion made the decision to unlock the maximum capabilities of their Overtur plug-in for Revit. Combined with Allegion’s industry-leading expertise and AMC Bridge’s in-depth knowledge of Revit, this collaboration was highly successful.

Allegion’s Overtur for Revit is a cloud-based ecosystem where project team members come together to collaborate on the project’s safety and security door systems. It provides a centralized place to capture, maintain, and verify door hardware requirements and decisions with easy options to push that information back to the design tools (for example, Revit). The Overtur for Revit plug-in provides the means for the Revit user to push data to and from the Overtur project.

The business purpose of improving the Overtur for Revit plug-in was to expand Allegion’s client base by reducing the effort required by designers for the synchronization of security information between Overtur and the architectural application.

As a result of the successful cooperation between Allegion and AMC Bridge, the plug-in has made strides forward in capabilities. The exceptional work done by both internal and external teams has brought new ideas and innovations to reality. Both Allegion and AMC Bridge have called this a success and happily continue this partnership going forward.

  • AMC Bridge Announces Results of Research on Integrated Solutions Using Geospatial and BIM Data

AMC Bridge introduced GeoToCAD, which is a result of research on integrated solutions for modelling urban environments. GeoToCAD is a technology demonstration of establishing a bi-directional connection between Autodesk Revit and ArcGIS®, a geospatial platform. It also allows to import a selected area of the Earth surface from ArcGIS to Revit, place a model on the selected surface and then preview this model on ArcGIS map, as well as save the model placed on the surface as a 3D PDF file.
  • Construction Document Flow Automation: A New AMC Bridge’s Technology Demonstration

Uneditable documents are a common challenge in construction workflows. To address this issue, AMC Bridge created a new Digitalization of Construction Drawings technology demonstration that showcases the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to enhance facility management and building replanning, pave the way for data digitalization, support proper drawing archiving and history tracing, and provide data recovery possibilities to maintain business continuity.
  • AMC Bridge Streamlines Construction Coordination with the Integration of Procore Coordination Issues into Autodesk Revit Software

AMC Bridge releases a new technology demonstration showcasing an approach to reducing the communication lag between design and construction by seamlessly integrating Coordination Issues native to the Procore® construction management software into the Autodesk® Revit® building information modeling (BIM) software. The resulting integration helps streamline the team collaboration workflow and ensure seamless user experience, which leads to better quality deliverables and substantial time and cost savings.
