Case study

Waltham, MA - The reliability and robustness of a product or service are always of utmost importance for manufacturers who strive to enlarge their client base and deliver a competitive advantage to their end users. Recognizing AMC Bridge as an experienced partner with deep knowledge of specific manufacturing processes, the client reached out to the AMC Bridge team to increase the operational performance of their cost estimation system.

Being a prominent 3D printing service supplier that values the quality of its service, the client aimed to overcome the limitations of its cost estimation system caused by the lack of 3D geometry support and massive manual effort for the cost scenario preparation. To transform their requirements into reality, the client entrusted AMC Bridge with the project relying on the AMC Bridge development team’s vast experience in building feature recognition algorithms and using HOOPS® SDKs.

To meet the client’s expectations, the AMC Bridge team, equipped with strong geometry experts, identified overlooked critical aspects in the system requirements and developed geometric algorithms and heuristics needed for automatic manufacturing feature recognition.

As a result, the client has gained an upgraded cost estimation solution with 3D CAD support and the ability to produce robust cost estimates that take into consideration detailed manufacturing data.
