Leading the Way: Revit to Kineo Computes Paths for Moving Objects in a Building Model

Our latest Revit® to Kineo™ technology demonstration of interfacing the main Autodesk® Revit® system with the Siemens Kineo™ software is developed to present a potential solution to path planning problems.

Using Autodesk Revit to set up a path planning problem within a CAD geometric scene, and using Siemens Kineo to compute a path for moving an object within a building, Revit to Kineo then exports the computed path to Revit and shows its 3D animation. With this technology demonstration, the user can select an object to move and obstacles to bypass, set up the start and end points of the path, compute, modify, or smoothen the path, and visualize the object being moved along the path in a 3D animation.
